Tiresome. Does this word explain how you define life? Believe me, sometimes I feel like life really is. Just how can you deal with this: You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know it should not. You take things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted. Sounds familiar? Just like what Morrie said, “It’s The Tension of Opposites.” Everything you do, it is as if life counters it. Tiresome, huh?
Nothing can be more uncaring than this world – like everything you plan does not work, right? Too bad you are in it. You wanted to finish your studies but you did not have the means to pursue it. The most adorable girl you have ever known was crying along the hallway because she just had her heart broken. The first time your friend really felt determined to become something, he failed. When your dad expected your mom to get well after saying his prayers with great faith, God took her. Reflecting on these things, sometimes you just want to drop your sword, cry and give up your fight. At times you just feel this need to shout out to God - as if He did not care for mankind - and ask, “What the heck is going on?!?” Eventually, you will get disheartened all the more because you think things will at least turn a little lighter but it will not. You have always thought that you have had enough of these conflicts, troubles, difficulties and all those blah blah blah... What is next? You rebel, waste your life, get hooked into morbid vices and in the end, you will probably get things too messed up, then you BLAME OTHER PEOPLE AND BLAME GOD!
As I examine life, I can see that these scenarios are banal. The Big Guy in heaven sometimes lets us experience a little bit of everything to learn something. Heart-rending? He does it on purpose, though. But as an entity with weak flesh and trembling knees, you carelessly throw complaints here and there, creating a woeful atmosphere. Reflect. Does complaining offer any good? It is a sure NO. We are not naïve. People grasp that most of the time, we know some things will not help but we just keep on doing them in lieu of having the heart to unleash the message in this mess. Underpin the fact that the best way to deal with trembling knees is kneeling on them. Close your eyes. What is happening in your life may be immensely disputable at present. Are you scared? Do not be…because life really is beautiful. It is not an auspicious act to believe in everything you see. More often than not, it is what is unseen that matters enormously. There is much more than what meets your eyes. When you seem to dislike what you hear, feel what has been forgotten to be felt. Close your eyes and feel beyond what is physical. It does not matter if it shall separate you from the ordinary. Being different is neither a crime nor a taboo. Do not stall or stress over whether you are doing it right. You will always know the answer right there at the bottom of your heart.
